Tamika Harrel is a former collegiate softball player and coach. She played on both the NJCAA and NCAA Division II levels. Her playing career began at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. Tamika was named Freshmen of the Year of the KJCCC conference in her first collegiate season. She was also a first and second team all region selection for her work on the mound, in the outfield, and at the plate. Tamika transferred to NEO A&M college in Miami, OK where she played her sophomore season where she was named to the first all region team as at NEO. She finished her collegiate career at MSSU in Joplin. Tamika pitched and played in the outfield for the Lions, as a junior and senior.
Tamika graduated from MSSU with a degree in Physical Education K-12. Upon completion of her bachelors degree, she began work on her Masters degree. Tamika was hired as a graduate assistant at Division I institution Southern University in Baton Rouge Louisiana where her primary responsibilities were working with pitchers and catchers.
Tamika graduated with her masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Southern University in July of 2011 and began her first head coaching job in August of 2011 at Coffeyville Community College. Tamika proudly coached at CCC for 6 seasons before stepping down to focus on her growing family.
Tamika is married to Stephen Harrel and they have three beautiful children.
