Machaela is a well-known softball pitcher in Southwest Missouri. She was the Joplin High School starting pitcher and hold records there for Most Strikeouts in a Season (204), most strikeouts in a season per 7 innings (12.85), most strikeouts in a game (9 innings 22 strikeouts in a district championship game), most career strikeouts per 7 innings (10.5). She was number 2 all-time in opponents’ batting average (2.17), and number 3 in ERA. Machaela has played all-conference, all-district, and all regional.
She played for a year at Jefferson Colleg and was on the roster at Crowder before she discovered the need for surgery. In her college career, she was the starting pitcher and went 7 and 1 with 1 save with a 2.42 ERA before being sidelined with an injury.
Machaela is 5’3′ tall and has had to learn to pitch with her entire body. She currently pitches 64 mph with her fastball and 39 mph with her changeup. She throws fastballs, curveballs, rise balls, changeups, and screwball. She is an open-close pitcher.
