Jamie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with the National Athletic Training Association and has a Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) from Arkansas Tech University. He has an extensive background from training 7th-12th grade, professional and amateur athletes to working with professionals with nominal experience in fitness. He has also taught PE, Wellness Science, Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning in both the High School and Collegiate setting. Jamie focuses on “training” for a specific goal with a purpose and not just going through the motions and “working out”. His approach to training relies heavily on the fundamentals of Functional Training, incorporating movements from the activities of daily life that are unique to each individual. He aims to be adaptable with his programming to help find the types of exercise and lifestyle changes that are exciting, manageable, and shape a path to achieve goals.
Jamie knows that clients are his walking billboards and treats training as a lifelong behavior modification where we have continuous improvement. He defines his sessions as simple, challenging, and efficient with an emphasis on proper form and mobility. His favorite client is anyone with a goal and a willingness to work towards it!
Jamie has been an athlete for over 35 years and started his journey as a competitive Powerlifter back in 1985 at the young age of 13 years old in Ticonderoga, NY. This journey was started by a High School Football coach that noticed that he had a lot of potential and asked him to jump in with the Junior High weight program. From that moment on he was hooked. In 2015, Jamie won a Gold Medal for Team USA in the World’s International Powerlifting Federation Classic Championship in Salo, Finland and was proud to represent his country in a Drug-Tested venue with over 1,500 participants from around the world. He believes a key component to being a successful Strength Coach, Athletic Trainer and Personal Trainer is practicing what you preach and be able to motivate others. Every client is a unique challenge, and the best trainers know how to tap into each clients potential through open feedback and communication.
Jamie has a wife, Kim, and 3 son’s Kyle, Lucas, and Kelton. He volunteered and had the privilege of being a Pee-Wee Football coach for over 10 years from 2008 until 2018 while one or more of his boys played on his team. He had so much fun during that 10-year span because he got to coach with some great Dad’s and help mentor kids that needed a good male role model in their life. His motto is “if they succeed then I succeeded”. Jamie believes that every kid deserves a chance towards success and makes it a priority to help guide troubled kids onto the right path.Train With Jamie
